Hello friends and family! This will be my blog that I will be updating weekly while I am studying in the Virgin Islands. I leave on August 7th and I will be back in early December. I can't wait for all my new adventures and experiences in St. Thomas.

Jules McHenry: Hi I am Jules McHenry! I am from Virginia. I attend the University of South Carolina. I am studying away during the fall semester of my senior year at the University of the Virgin Islands - St. Thomas. I am majoring in Marine Science with a concentration in Biological Oceanography and a minor in Hotel, Restuarant, and Tourism Management. I love to SCUBA dive and swim in my free time. What is studying away (NSE)? Studying away is when a student studies at another university or college in the US (this can include the territories and Canada). The program I am doing is called National Student Exchange (NSE). For a semester or a year students can study at other universities. They are still technically enrolled at their home university, but will register for classes elsewhere. NSE allows me to have new experiences without having to leave the country which is why it is a study away program.
